About Inger Inanna Weidema
My main sources of inspiration are nature’s forms, textures and patterns, such as cellular structures, rock formations and seaweeds. Nature’s infinite complexity shape my visual vocabulary. Environmental concerns and my previous studies of biodiversity also inform my making.
After completing a Ph.D. degree in biology I have been working as a scientist and with nature conservation. However, the creative impulse was always there – I have been working with textiles for more than 25 years. Currently I am studying for a BA in textile art at the Open College of Arts, UK.
