My current practice focuses on visual art, where I work with textile techniques, mixed media, printmaking, and biomaterials. I hold a first class degree in Textile Art from the OCA/OU in UK. Originally trained as a biologist and botanist, I completed a Ph.D. and worked for many years in nature conservation before turning to art. I am based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
My practice is grounded in visual and material curiosity. Environmental concerns, biodiversity and critical plant studies inform my creative process as well. I also try to open myself to a more inquisitive wonder that supplements the research based approach.
The feeling of encountering and connecting with nature is a deeply felt personal interest. My main inspirations are the ‘ways of Nature,’ observing how things grow, decay, and entangle in nature. I am interested in using materials responsibly, reusing and recycling old stash as much as possible. I also collaborate with plants to raise questions about our relationship with and care for nature.
