This ongoing series of collagraphs begins with printing plates made from impressions of homegrown wheat and tomato roots, using Charbonnel Aquawash ink. The prints are then fragmented along selected root lines and reassembled within a hand-formed frame made from modified chicken wire or iron wire, coated with paper pulp and finished with textile colour.
This ongoing series, begun in 2026, explores fragmentation. Variations between the works emerge through different degrees of separation and modes of reconnection. The fragments are held in place by web-like structures or fragile lines, suggesting forms of connection that are under strain. The works offer references to habitat fragmentation and the ongoing breakdown of connectivity in the natural world.
