This collagraph from 2025 (apr. 35 × 45cm) is inspired by Shëkufe Heiberg’s book: Livets verber (The Verbs of Life: Additions to the Contemporary Danish Dictionary. Copenhagen 2024 (1st edition: OVBIDAT). Heiberg writes beautifully about how we might choose to use words differently – from Nature’s point of view. Inspired by her text, I wrote this work-note to myself:
What if “to root” meant “to be in the world like roots”?
To feel a longing to branch out and to share what one finds with everyone.
To express oneself through more growth.
To be flexible in the face of all obstacles in one’s surroundings, effortlessly moving around the hard ones – and avoiding the toxic zones of life.
To be porous and open to everything good.
To be extremely sensitive to place.
